The movie called as the 11th hour

This film comes in a definite “must see” list as it opens up our awareness to a very high level. We can end up asking lot of questions to ourselves once we have seen this movie. The most striking point that has captured my imagination from this movie called as “the 11^th hour” is the fact that we the “human race” are trying to achieve unlimited growth in a “limited environment” offered to us in the form of nature and it’s fast depleting resources. In the quest for unlimited growth we are consuming anything and everything that is coming in our way.

 

We human beings have become a “pest” which spreads at lightning speed and consumes everything that is in its path. Our population has tripled in last 100 years and it has doubled in last 60 years. Unimaginable! Our actions are leading us to the ultimate destruction of the fragile environment that we are living in. We have embarked upon the path of unsustainable growth. Future is bleak unless we change now.

Halloween

Yesterday night I saw this movie called as Halloween. For name sake, it can be categorized under a scary movie but there was nothing scary about it. Definitely it cannot be called as a psychological thriller in any sense as the movie did not have any plot to start with. The main character is a so called disturbed child who develops into a mindless “killing machine”. He is hilariously called as a psychopath.  The irony is that he does not show even remote form of intelligence to qualify as a psychopath. The movie is full of crap violence for the sake of it.

I got thoroughly bored seeing this film. The only good thing that happened is the analyses which begin in my mind as regards to the possibility of young kids showing symptoms of future psychological trouble. If yes, then what are the mitigating factors which can aggravate the situation leading into all kind of negative manifestations in the future? On the other hand if positively identified at an early stage, can such deviant energies be channelized into something constructive for the individual and the good of the society in general?

Other questions that arise are the contribution of genetics and environment in shaping a personality and whether we have a choice in shaping our individuality based on continuous information and education throughout life? Can “self-feeding” of continuous knowledge convert deviant behaviours into extraordinary creative achievements for the "self" and the society?

Finally I am fascinated by the power of darkness and the power of nothingness. There is unimaginable creative energy available in these realms. We need to know how to utilize them properly. That’s the puzzle that needs to be solved.

Light is temporary but darkness is permanent. The need for light is born out of darkness and finally the light is extinguished to reveal the darkness. This is the truth of the universe which cannot be denied.

I saw this movie yesterday and I must admit that John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson have done a terrific job in this movie. It’s a very disturbing film and for a person like me who is running behind "ultimate liberation", it’s a signature nightmare that I live "every day" in and out. I mean the suffocation and helplessness is so genuine. When you have touched the raw nerve and when you start decoding the structures behind the illusion called the "universe", then the haunting starts. You are chased and haunted by the "gatekeepers" and the “sleeping beings” of this world to keep you in perpetual never ending nightmare.

This film also reminds me of the cycle of birth, death and rebirth and it also makes me hyperaware of the difficulty one has to face to break the conventional chain of events and follow the path of true liberation. The empire strikes back, from the day when you start following the path of "truth”.

Coming back to the film, the ending is chilling where you have a "sequence" in which the best that is offered to you (to escape from this never ending nightmare) is a “noose” which shall in fact help you become part of the "abyss" itself. 

1408 is a must see. It’s brilliant. Last week I had seen another flick which arouses the raw emotion in you. The Hostel brings out the darkest side of the human psyche. It’s true that human beings can become the devil personified.
